Revenue from the play-offs

13 June 2017

Despite the result not going according to plan against Blackpool at Wembley Stadium, the massive amount of activity and incredible fan involvement at the play-off games meant it was a fantastic way to end a rollercoaster season.

A regular question asked is how much revenue that bought to the club and, whilst the EFL formula for distribution of gate income is particularly complex, when all aspects are considered - including hospitality, travel etc - the club envisage the total gained will be between £150-200k mark.

This income is much needed, especially when considering the work going on with the redevelopment of St James Park. There are a significant number of inevitable projects becoming evident, and this money will go some way towards ensuring the development is done as professionally as possible, so that all fans visiting St James Park can enjoy the facilities they deserve.
