Exeter City's 2018/19 pre-season schedule kicks off this Tuesday evening as an under-23 side take on Bideford AFC at the Sports Ground in a 7pm kick-off.
City-manager Matt Taylor was keen to emphasise just how good an opportunity it is for the young Grecians and it's a chance for travelling City fans to see the future of the club.
“The Bideford game is one for our under-23s, there will be no senior pros involved. It’s a great opportunity for our fans to come and support the future generation of the club. We’ve got some fantastic young players that will be on show on Tuesday night." said Matt.
“We start on Thursday at Truro and it’s very much a case of easing the boys back in. It will be two different elevens which will change at half-time. We are very much going there to get a positive result and start building towards the season.
“The games come thick and fast and suddenly it will be the first league match of the season.”
City's first-team are in pre-season action from Thursday night at Truro City.
About Bideford AFC:
The Robins play in the Evo-Stik League South, West Division. They finished the 2017/18 season in 8th place with 73 points and missed out on the play-offs by a single point.
City youngsters Max Smallcombe, Ben Seymour and Josh Key all spent time at Bideford during the 2017/18 season with Ben Seymour contributing 24 goals.
