The Grecians travel to Cornwall for the club's second pre-season friendly

Exeter City’s pre-season campaign continues as they make the trip to Cornwall to take on Truro City on Thursday in a 7pm kick-off at Treyew Road.

The match will be the first opportunity to see the first team players in action as Matt Taylor readies his squad for the upcoming 2018/19 campaign. New summer signings Aaron Martin, Jonathan Forte, Nicky Law and Tristan Abrahams are expected to feature for the Grecians as they continue to settle into their new club.

Midfielder Jake Taylor, who is also likely to play a part in the fixture, is enjoying getting back to work in pre-season.

He said: “The first week has been really good. It’s nice to see the new boys settling in as well, we’ve had some tough sessions which is what pre-season is all about.

“When you get the friendlies going it’s good to get a grip for the team and the new players around you. It’s something we are all excited for and we can’t wait for the games to come.”

About Truro City:

Nicknamed the White Tigers Truro City currently play in National League South making them the highest ranked club in Cornwall.

They endured a steady season last year as they came seventh in their division taking 69 points from 42 games, and despite qualifying for the play-offs they were beaten by Hampton & Richmond Borough.

Truro have often been a club which have taken a host of City youngsters on loan in recent seasons, giving them much needed experience. Current City players Matt Jay and Alex Hartridge have spent time on loan with the White Tigers, as well as former City youngsters Alex Byrne and Connor Riley-Lowe
