Exeter City make the long trip to Blundell Park to face Grimsby Town on the back of a nine-match unbeaten streak which sees the Grecians in second place in EFL Sky Bet League Two.
Exeter City manager Matt Taylor says there is a buzz about the club at the moment and he is hoping the players can reward the fans who make the long journey to Grimsby Town on Saturday with a positive performance.
“There is a good buzz around the place at the moment. Hopefully, that will continue with the new stand. That is next week though and we have got to look to this Saturday first and the fans making the trip to Grimsby have got to see a certain type of performance where we have got to be resilient, strong and good in terms of our physical presence against a team who have just won their last two games.”
WHEN WE LAST MET:
Grimsby Town 0-1 Exeter City - (24/2/18) League Two
The ever reliable Jayden Stockley providing the game’s only goal after dispatching from the penalty spot in the first half.
The Grecians victory maintained their push for promotion as they moved up to fifth, while Grimsby stuttered once more after losing their previous two games.

SEASON SO FAR:
Grimsby have bounced back to some semblance of form having won their last two league games – 2-0 at home to Port Vale and 1-0 at Carlisle United.
Prior to that Jolley’s men had lost six league games on the bounce and sliding into the relegation zone as a result, with goals proving to be very problematic.
- Name: Blundell Park
- Capacity: 9,052
- Year opened: 1899
- Address: Blundell Park, Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire, DN35 7PY
After leaving Abbey Park in 1898, Grimsby took up residence at Blundelk Park in 1899 an it has remained their home to this day.
The Mariners boast a capacity marginally above 9,000, but peaked at 31,651 when they faced Wolves in an FA Cup tie in 1937.
TRAVELLING BY CAR:
Use the M5 and then take M42, M1 and M180 to A180 into North Lincolnshire. Then follow A180 to Imperial Ave in Cleethorpes where you will find the ground on your left.
The total distance between St James Park and Blundell Park is 303 miles and can take around five hours to drive.
TRAVELLING BY TRAIN:
The journey from Exeter St David’s to Cleethorpes Railway Station takes six and a half hours and would require at least one change, normally at Sheffield. When you arrive in Cleethorpes, walk left along the seafront until you see the ground and then cross the bridge. After crossing the bridge, turn right and proceed down the road, this will lead you to the away entrance. This walk should take 15 to 20 minutes and has chip shops and pubs on the way.
Visiting fans will be sure of a warm welcome to Blundell Park with your dedicated bar inside the ground. Although an old room it is full of character and is decked out in flags, scarves, shirts etc, that have been kindly donated from previous clubs who have visited over time.
The bar opens at the same time as the turnstiles (1.30pm on Saturday.)
Scotties Bar is run by the Mariners Trust, a supporters’ organisation which has the aim of raising money for the club. They are asking for any donations of away club memorabilia (scarves, shirts, pennants etc..) to make it a true football bar. So, if you have something spare that you can take along then I'm sure it would be appreciated. Please note that entrance to Scotties Bar can only be gained from inside the ground, once you have entered through the away turnstiles.
