August’s BIG winner in the Foundation monthly draw is Malcolm Fraser, seen in our picture in his favourite T shirt!
The £1,000 won will come in most useful as Malcolm is about to renovate his kitchen!
Malcolm first went to see the Grecians as a 16-year-old way back in 1961 and immediately became hooked. He moved away from Exeter to the Midlands in 1974 but still maintained the Grecians as ‘his team’. Despite visiting all the big grounds there - including Villa, Birmingham, West Brom and Coventry - he stuck with the Grecians, claiming that none had the atmosphere of SJP! Hence his continuing support, including membership of the Foundation.
Being based away from the south west Malcolm isn’t able to attend many matches these days. His favourite players were Fred Binney and Alan Banks. Favourite match was the away cup tie vs Liverpool and sampling the night atmosphere at Anfield. Favourite moment, in Malcolms words “a load of young supporters agreeing to the manager's request and cleaning and painting the Cowshed, but can't remember his name ! I had a part time job in the Whipton Inn, and loads of our locals got involved…..”
Any guesses as to who the Manager was???
