Harry Kite gave his thoughts as the Grecians drew 0-0 at league leaders Forest Green.
Kite played as a makeshift centre half in a back three and helped City reduce Forest Green to just a handful of chances.
"That was a really good performance and if you look at the chances in the game we've actually come away a little disappointed not to take the three points," Harry said.
"I've never played at centre half before. Shoutout to Cheick and Josh Key who were either side of me, helping me and guiding me as the game went on.
"I started to feel a bit more comfortabke as the game went on and it was really nice to be a part of a backline that kept a clean sheet as well."
