City make the short hop up the M5

7 July 2022

Exeter City head into their third pre-season fixture this Friday, July 8, as we make the short hop up the M5 to take on Taunton Town at the Cygnet Healthcare Stadium at 7.45pm.

The Grecians were comfortable 5-0 winners at Weston-super-Mare on Tuesday with Sam Nombe scoring four second half goals, plus one from Alfie Pond.

Matt Taylor expects to once again play two separate XIs in the fixture, but he will be without Sonny Cox who picked up an ankle injury at Weston and must be further assessed. He has indicated he will mix up the two sides from what we saw on Tuesday night.

The Venue

The Cygnet Health Care Stadium, Wordsworth Drive, Taunton, Somerset TA1 2HG

Leave the M5 at Junction 25. Take the exit off roundabout signposted Taunton (A38). Go straight over first roundabout, keeping in left hand or middle lane. Continue along the Toneway and keep straight on at the four-way traffic light junction until reaching a roundabout where the left hand lane should be taken onto Chritchard Way. Stay left and take exit at traffic lights, then go straight ahead at traffic lights immediately after. Continue around the corner into Wordsworth Drive and the ground is on the left.
