The Foundation’s big winner for March was Jackie Willey who collected the £1,000 prize.
Jackie is pictured at the recent match against Charlton Athletic receiving her cheque from Pete Ferlie, Jackie is very generously going to use the money to help a friend she says is struggling at the moment and any leftover will go on a family holiday.
Jackie can be seen on match days organising the car parking at a nearby primary school which has raised thousands of pounds for school funds, she has been following City for a good while now and remembers some of her highs and lows and favourite players:
"I’ve been watching City for 46 years. I’ve been lucky enough to have a season ticket for many years now. I’m also a trust member. I only lived off of Well Street as a child so have known all about City playing at St James park all my life. I’m sure it’s in my blood.
"My best times watching City were in the 80’s in the cup run. I went to all the away games, the City trains to those games were just something else. The worst times were the trips to Wembley when we lost, not good memories, but the win at Wembley was fantastic under Paul Tisdale.
"My favourite players over the years have been Tony Kellow, Jimmy Giles, Peter Hatch, John Delve plus many more talented players and my favourite manager was Alan Ball.
I’ve also seen some good players come up through the City academy Matt Grimes, Ollie Watkins, Ethan Ampadu to name but a few."
