Goalkeeper Jas Read was City's first signing of the 2024 summer transfer window, as she joined the club from Plymouth Argyle.
After beginning her career with Yeovil Town and then Bridgwater, Jas made her way south to the Pilgrims midway through the 2021/22 season, where she twice played a crucial role in keeping the Greens in the third tier. Such were the standards of her performances, the stopper won Argyle's Young Player of the Season and Community Player of the Year award at the end of the following campaign.
Upon signing for the Grecians, Jas had already made over 50 appearances in tier three, and added another level of strength and competition to the goalkeeping unit at City. For the 2024/25 season, Jas played on loan at Torquay United, where she made 20 appearances as the Gulls narrowly missed out on the tier five title.
