Pat Praise For Jordan

17 August 2012

Experienced defender on Moore-Taylor

City centre-back Pat Baldwin has praised the performances of 18-year-old Jordan Moore-Taylor after the first year professional’s recent displays for the first team.

Moore-Taylor, who is usually a centre-back and captained the Under 18s last season, made his competitive senior bow in place of Craig Woodman on Tuesday night having impressed against Millwall and Yeovil in pre-season and Pat is delighted with his progress and the club’s confidence in their youngsters.

“Jordan has done very, very well and should be very proud of his recent performances, he’s been fantastic,” Pat said.

“He’s a good player and he’s got a good future in the game if he carries on with this attitude he has been showing.

“It’s great for us to be able to have confidence in someone as young as he is, as we do with all the youngsters as they are all good players.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for him to show the manager what he can do and show that if he’s selected he can do a great job.”

With Morecambe at home on Saturday (3pm) then trips to Aldershot and Accrington next week there is a chance for City to really hit the ground running if they can pick up three positive results, something not lost on Pat.

“I think this is a really important part of the season,” he told us. “Don’t get me wrong, if things don’t go our way then there is plenty of time left in the season for us to build momentum, but everyone wants to start well.”

Saturday’s clash with Morecambe is a pay on the day affair and remember Under 12s can enter for just £2! The matchday programme contains more of this interview with Pat as long as plenty of other must-read exclusives.
