Local paper take the match ball
The ever-popular Express & Echo recently sponsored the match ball at the Exeter City v AFC Wimbledon match, bringing a party of well-known city faces and movers and shakers to the game.They certainly brought a change of fortune to the Grecians too, as City won 2-0 on the night and have been in fine form ever since.
Michelle Pugh, pictured right, is the head of the area commercial arm of the media group. Michelle collected the ball the following day with her colleague Mike Evans.
Customer Relations Manager for Exeter City Richard Knight commented: “Very few clubs can have such a great relationship with the business side of their local paper as we have with the Express & Echo. We have some very exciting plans coming up in the future that will help both the paper and the club, so it’s definitely a case of watch this space!”
Established in 1904 (like the Grecians!), the Express & Echo is released every Thursday and covers sport and news in Exeter and the surrounding area.
