Attackers link up with Seagulls in loan switch
Exeter City attacking duo Matt Jay and Ollie Watkins have joined Weston-super-Mare on a one-month loan deal.The pair both turned professional in the summer after winning the Youth Alliance South West title with the Grecians’ under-18 team, and made their first-team debuts while still Academy players last season. They both featured in a friendly fixture against the Seagulls in pre-season this year – Watkins scored the game’s only goal before half-time at Woodspring Stadium.
Firstly Weston will now play Farnborough – where Aaron Dawson is currently on loan – twice within the space of a week. The sides meet at Woodspring on Tuesday evening in the Vanarama Conference South, before clashing in the FA Trophy on Saturday.
Jay and Watkins could feature in as many as eight games for the Somerset side before their loan is due to end after they face Sutton United on Sunday 4th January.
