Robert Madley is the man in the middle

Robert Madley will be the man with the whistle for Tuesday’s game at Home Park as City look to complete a Devon Derby double.

Madley started refereeing in the 2009/10 season and this season has made the step-up to the highest level, taking charge of five Premier League games and an FA Cup tie at the Emirates as Arsenal beat Coventry 4-0.

As for his experience with the Grecians, Madley has only taken in two City games before.  The first was in 2010/11 as City beat Walsall 2-1 at SJP and last season Madley was in the middle for the goalless draw at Fleetwood.

So far this season Madley has taken charge of 22 games and is no stranger to handing out cards.  80 yellows and eight reds have been given in his games to date, with the dismissals including Stoke’s Steven N’Zonzi in their 1-0 defeat at Sunderland and James Tarkowski in Brentford’s 1-0 win in the top of the table clash at Leyton Orient in League 1 earlier in March.

Match officials
Referee: Robert Madley (West Yorkshire)
