Match ticket prices revisedExeter City Football Club will be reducing the price of tickets bought from the turnstiles and ticket booths on matchday with immediate effect, beginning with this weekend’s visit of Oxford United to St James Park.
The ticket pricing and policy has been reviewed by the Gates Committee and both the Club and Trust Boards. All parties acknowledged that changes had to be made and a consensus was reached this week, which is fully detailed below.
We appreciate that tickets should be easy to access in a variety of ways, to match our supporters’ needs. Supporters will still be able to get a discount on their ticket price by buying early – advanced ticket prices are to remain the same, except for the Student/Under-18 prices in the Thatchers Big Bank and Stagecoach Family Stand which have been reduced. This means that in many cases our fans will be able to come to support Exeter City for the same price, or cheaper, than last season. At the same time we have significantly reduced gate and booth prices in every part of the ground for all age groups.
For example, an Adult and an Under-18 will now be able to buy tickets on the turnstiles to the Thatchers Big Bank for the price of £23 (down from £29), whilst an Adult and an Under-12 ticket for the Stagecoach Family Stand, bought at the ground, will now be £26 (reduced from £31).
An important consideration has been to try and ensure that the prices paid by our Season Ticket and FLEXeter holders still represent the best value. In the case of any anomaly, we appeal to fans to embrace the spirit in which these new changes for the remainder of the season have been made, namely to attempt to work in the interests or our supporters as a whole. However should you still consider that you have personally been affected detrimentally by these changes, please contact the club directly by telephoning 01392 411 243 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Further, we also understand that our present league standing falls below everyone’s aspirations, and it is for that reason that both the Club and the team will need the support of our passionate and dedicated fanbase more than ever. We remain confident that our mainly young and developing homegrown squad will continue that development and blossom as the season goes on. The backing of our supporters is vital in this process in spurring the side on to rise above our current position.
We hope that these amendments to the pricing of matchday tickets will help to encourage more of our supporters to return to St James Park and that those fans who have stayed away in recent months will start to return at this challenging time. For the remainder of the season our target will be gates in excess of 3,000 per match in order to maintain stability and to build, as best we can, for the future.
Finally, the Gates Committee will meet again on Wednesday 17th September for forward consideration of the ticket pricing structure for the 2015/16 campaign, in order to ensure that we better organised going forward with due regard to the prices that our fanbase is prepared to pay.
