Former City Players Association launched at Fluminense match

25 July 2015

Nearly twenty ex-players at inaugural event

EXETER CITY and the Supporters’ Trust launched the Club's ‘Former Players Association’ at the pre-season friendly against Fluminense U19’s on Monday 20 July 2015.

The initiative was one of the first priorities for the new Exeter History Group with the support of the University of Exeter.

Prior to the match all former players were invited to the get-together in the Apple Suite  to catch up with past team-mates and other former players.

Nearly 20 ex-players turned up including Shaun Taylor, Chris Todd, Martin Rogers, Steve Flack, Jim McNichol, Dave Cooper, Alan Banks and Bobby Hodge.

2 of the 3 players in this photo were there.

The former players were introduced to the work that the University of Exeter have been doing with us to build an archive of City's history. The players were invited to help us with the archive.

For a few of the ex-players this was their first visit to Exeter City since leaving and all were very pleased and complimentary about the setting up of this Association.

Since Monday other players have also come forward.

Any player who was unable to attend but would like to be kept informed about the Association and further events, please get in touch with any of the contacts below:
