Academy manager thanks Richard Pears and his team for their hospitality

Exeter City Academy manager Simon Hayward praised the conduct and hospitality of Exmouth Town following a friendly match against them on Wednesday night.

An academy side, including players from Exeter City under-17s, under-16s and under-15s side played at King George V on Wednesday night against Exmouth who are managed by former City striker Richard Pears.

Hayward was so impressed by the spirit the game was played in and the welcoming and hospitable nature of the Exmouth Town players and staff that he said he would happily have a friendly against the same team next summer.

"The game was played in the right spirit for a friendly," he said. "There were no bad challenges and the Exmouth Town players conducted themselves in such a professional manner that I would have no problem arranging a pre-season freindly against them next summer. They are a credit to their manager Richard Pears and we wish him and his team the best in their upcoming Peninsula League campaign."
