‘Corker of a pitch’ handed over to City

21 December 2016

3G Pitch project completed on time and within budget

The State-of-the-art new 3G pitch was handed over to the club at the Cliff Hill Training Ground this afternoon.

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of NPS, Sportfields, Desso Sports and the Exeter City Grounds team, the project was completed on time and within budget

In attendance of the handover were Leah Collins (Office Manager at Sportsfield), Geoff Collins (Managing Director of Sportfields), Paul Tisdale (Exeter City First-team Manager), Mike Phillips (Exeter City Project Manager), Paul Wright (the late Clifford Hill's representative) and Chris Jay (NPS SW Director of Design).

The pitch has been built to the same size as the playing field at St James Park using a contemporary cork infill surface. It will benefit the club greatly as it will enable the first team to train effectively during the winter months, and be a facility that Exeter City’s Academy, Football in the Community charity and the Ladies team will be able to use all year.

The club intends to host an open evening for supporters to be able to get out and see the pitch in January, more details on this event will follow.
