Opposition In Focus - York City

16 February 2016

A closer look at the Minstermen

THIS EVENING the Grecians make the long trip north to take on York City, who have lost just once in their previous four matches.

The Minstermen beat Notts County 2-1 in their last match and they are currently one point away from escaping the relegation zone.

York have not kept a clean sheet in the league since beating Newport County 3-0 back in September. Their top goalscorer this season is 24-year-old Vadaine Oliver, who has seven, but he has yet to find the net since the turn of the year. Michael Coulson has netted five times and James Berrett four times for Jackie McNamara's side.

Despite City’s narrow defeat to promotion-chasers Wycombe Wanderers last time out, the Grecians have hit an improved run of form in recent weeks and can be confident, but must of course be wary of a York side that are battling to secure the points they need for survival.
