November’s Foundation ‘BIG’ prize of £1000 was won by Neil le Milliere, who is well known to many Foundation members and City fans alike.
We set out below a little about Neil, who plans to spend his winnings for a holiday and drinks with friends - as and when we are allowed - with a very generous contribution of £100 to the City Supporters Trust too.
Here is what Neil had to say:
Neil started supporting the Club in 1981 when following Exeter on the FA cup run, though he had followed the Grecians before that. He is is a long-standing member of the Trust, who was co-opted to the Trust Board from the formation of the Trust until he had completed the maximum years allowed for continuous membership. After his mandatory year’s absence, he was again co-opted in October 2012 before successfully standing for election in 2013 and then being re-elected in 2016 and 2019.
Neil is on the National Council of the Football Supporters Association (the organisation that came out of a merger between Supporters Direct and the FSF) and is also a key figure in the London Exiles Supporters Group, representing them at APFSCIL (The Association of Provincial Football Supporters’ Clubs in London) where he is also Secretary and Travel Officer. Neil also serves on a FA Committee
Neil does a great deal of work coordinating the Exiles’ travel arrangements and is a regular himself at almost all home and away games across the country. He also organises appearances by Exiles Supporters teams at various competitions in England and abroad. Lastly, Neil is one of the moderators/administrators of the long-standing Grecian Net online group mail list for Exeter Supporters.
As well as being involved in Football, Neil is heavily involved in Table Tennis, both as an active player and as an administrator at local and national levels.
Neil’s favourite players over the years are Tony Kellow and Danny Bailey. Favourite match is probably the play-off win at Torquay for the whole day out, but a tough choice as there have been so many and for an Exile it’s the whole trip rather than just the match!
If you ever want a word with Neil about anything at all then head to the FECRACE bar in the St James Centre on match days where Neil and his colleagues, all volunteers, will be happy to sell you a pasty plus pint of real ale or cider to wash it down.
