📝 Match Preview: Salford City (A)

All you need to know as City visit the North West

29 October 2021

Exeter City travel to the Peninsula Stadium to take on Salford City this weekend as they look to extend their unbeaten league run to 13 matches.

The Grecians picked up a 2-1 win last time out, beating Mansfield Town at St James Park thanks to goals from Tim Dieng and Matt Jay and will be hoping to make it three wins in a row in Greater Manchester.

The Ammies, owned by the Class of 92, were beaten 3-1 at Forest Green Rovers last time out and currently sit 17th in the League Two table. However, they have only lost twice at home in 2021, including just once this season to Swindon Town.

Matt Taylor's Thoughts

"We go there with confidence on the back of our last few games," he said.

"I firmly believe Salford will improve on their league position but we have to ensure they don't start doing that this weekend. They've been good at home - they've only lost one all season there - so that's where their strength is.

"They're a side that get on top and put you under pressure. You can generally judge a team on their home form so we know what we're up against.

"We have to play our style of football."
