Exeter City host Scunthorpe United this weekend and thanks to our friends at PPA UK we have a look back at some of the best snapshots from our previous encounters.

So in an alternative look here's a look back at our clashes with the Iron through the years.

Scunthorpe United 0 Exeter City 4 | October 19, 2013

Arron Davies scoring his outrageous volley from 40 yards at Glanford Park.

City ran out rampant winners when the Grecians went to Linconshire in 2013. Liam Sercombe netted twice and Sam Parkin also scored, to sandwich Arron Davies' wonderstrike in front of the travelling faithful.

Exeter City 2 Scunthorpe United 0 | April 26, 2014

Woody wheels away after thumping City to a win over the title chasing Iron.

In a season of mid-table security, the Grecians ended the season on a high. Craig Woodman's delicious free-kick the pick of the two, with Jimmy Keohane netting the other. The day will also live long in the memory of Scunthorpe fans, as Fleetwood were held at home to Southend, meaning the Iron would be promoted back into League One.

Scunthorpe United 3 Exeter City 1 | October 22, 2019

Matt Jay fires City level, cancelling out James Perch's sensational opener.

In the first meeting between the two sides since Scunny's relegation back into League Two, James Perch opened the scroing with a thunderous strike to beat Jonny Maxted. MJ equalised with a similarly precise effort, before Jamie Ward and Alex Gillead moved the Iron away from the relegation zone.

Exeter City 3 Scunthorpe United 1 | October 24, 2020

Five of our own celebrating City's second goal from Matt Jay.

City found another gear as three goals from Joel Randall, Matt Jay and Jake Taylor steered City to victory. Jai Rowe had pulled Scunthorpe back into the game after half time though it proved litte consolation.

Scunthorpe United 0 Exeter City 2 | March 9, 2021

Jack Sparkes jinks his way through before powering City into a 2-0 lead

City travelled to Lincolnshire high in confidence at Matt Jay built on his first career hat-trick the Saturday prior, with a blistering free kick. Jack Sparkes doubled the scoring with a mazy run and clinical finish

Scunthorpe United 0 Exeter City 4 | September 11, 2021

Physio Dan Feasey lofted by the City players, marking his final game with the club.

City earned their first three points on the road this term with a convicing 4-0 demolition of Scunthorpe. Two goals from MJ opened the scoring before Josh Key and Tim Dieng put the icing on the cake. The game also marked physio Dan Feasey's last game with the club as he went back into education, with no better reault to wind up his time with the Grecians.
