Our first season back in the third tier after ten years away has certainly been one to remember with some incredible memories made. As we wave goodbye to the campaign for the 2022/23 season and look ahead to the next, now is the perfect time to take a look back at what has certainly been a rollercoaster season.
Next up, October, where City bid farewell to one legendary manager and hello to a new man at the helm, as Gary Caldwell replaced Matt Taylor.
- Matt Taylor departs the club after four years in charge, leaving to join Rotherham United of the Championship. Kevin Nicholson and Jon Hill are placed in interim charge.
- Jay Stansfield scores his first goals for the club – bagging both in a 2-0 win at Barnsley. It was the first ‘Stansfield’ goal for the Grecians since January 2010.
- Sonny Cox scores his first senior goal as be nets a consolation in a home defeat to Oxford United.
- Gary Caldwell is appointed the new manager of Exeter City, taking charge just a day before a goalless draw at Derby County.
