We have an exciting opportunity to join our unique and special club with 20 years of Supporters’ Trust ownership in a casual, seasonal position as an Academy Minibus Driver.
This role forms part of our academy structure and by joining the team you will be supporting our academy which has a growing reputation for not only producing talented footballers but more importantly, well-rounded young men in looking after the best interests of our players by playing a key role in transporting our under 18’s safely.
As well as safely operating our minibus and transporting players to appropriate locations in line with fixtures the successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out pre & post vehicle checks, completing the logbook & company checklists as required and reporting any issues.
Candidates applying for this role will need to have a full UK D1 driving licence and be reliable, punctual and committed to the role. Candidates should have a good geographical knowledge and excellent driving record with no recent endorsements.
Prior to commencing work a right to work document(s) must be presented and references and an enhanced DBS Check will need to be undertaken.
Hourly rate of pay will be £15 per hour.
Role Summary:
- Help develop well rounded young men who aspire to demonstrate the highest standards off the pitch in line with the ECFC ethos and identity.
- Drive the Academy Minibus to collect and drop off a number of U18 players in-line with the required schedule.
- Responsible for the safety, comfort and welfare of the young people transported.
- Carry out driver’s daily and weekly vehicle checks, and carry out basic maintenance.
- Report any vehicle defects, faults, incidents and accidents.
- Be responsible for the cleanliness of vehicles, inside and out and ensuring the vehicle is in a clean and roadworthy condition before and after use.
- Refuel vehicles as required.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage.
- Maintain accurate records of the young people using the service each day.
- Maintain and help to promote a good Club image, working attire should be worn at all times and kept in a clean and tidy condition.
- Work within health and safety guidelines and other guidelines that may be issued from time-to-time.
- Work within the constraints and guidelines as set out by the Academy.
- Undertake any other associated duties as required by the Academy.
- Plan alternative road routes to and from the Training Ground when necessary and keeping parents and staff informed of any changes.
Safeguarding:
- Attend seasonal safeguarding training as required by the Club.
- Adhere to all guidelines contained within the Club's Safeguarding Policy.
- Utilise the ‘My Concern’ system to ‘recognise, respond, report and record’ any safeguarding incidents in a timely and detailed manner.
- Place player safety and welfare as a top priority at all times.
- Ensure all technical equipment is safe & stored securely.
Qualifications:
- Hold a current, clean and valid driving licence D1 unrestricted or a PSV licence, D1 restricted (car licence obtained prior to 01/01/1997) considered.
- Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme (MIDAS) trained (desirable).
- PCV Licence holder (desirable).
- FA Emergency Aid (EFAiF).
- Safeguarding upkeep CPD (internal & external).

Experience
- Professional driving background (desirable).
- Experience of driving a Minibus or similar large vehicle (essential).

- Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) enhanced certification (essential).
- Upkeep & update all professional & industry qualifications through related external CPD (essential)
