City Women return to league action on Wednesday night, where they will play host to Plymouth Argyle under the lights at St James Park.
Abbie Britton's side will look to make it back-to-back Devon Derby wins, coming off of the back of a 6-0 drubbing against Torquay United at Plainmoor on Sunday, confirming City's place in the second round of the Adobe WFA Cup. Wednesday also provides the chance for City Women to follow in the footsteps of the men's team and secure victory against Plymouth at SJP, following the 2-0 win on Thursday for Gary Caldwell's team.
While City will look to carry their cup form from this season into Wednesday's game, Argyle have made a strong impression in the Women's National League so far this season; currently sitting pretty in fourth place having amassed 14 points in seven games. Wednesday's opponents will also look to carry momentum into the game, coming off of the back of a 7-0 win in the first round of the Adobe WFA Cup on Sunday, comfortably beating Maidstone United and joining the Grecians in the second round.
