The partnership between Exeter City and Dolphin Stairlifts will increase access at St James Park.

Exeter City Football Club is excited to announce a new commercial partnership with Dolphin Stairlifts South West LTD which will greatly improve disabled supporters’ matchday experience.

As part of the arrangement, Dolphin Stairlifts will provide a viewing platform and a portable lift in the away end of St James Park. The equipment will ensure that disabled fans will be seated among their fellow supporters.

Exeter City has been working hard to make its matchday experience more accessible to all fans. By working with Dolphin Stairlifts, a Local family run business renowned for its expertise in mobility solutions, Exeter City is taking another important step in ensuring that football remains a game for everyone.

Andrew Barge, Exeter City Disabled Supporters Association, said: “On behalf of the disabled supporters association, I am delighted to see the addition of this important facility for disabled fans who have come to support our opposition. As a supporter owned club, and working closely within the community, we work hard to make visiting St James Park as accessible as possible for all fans, whatever their circumstances. This, along with many other initiatives, is further evidence of that commitment.”

Joe Gorman, Exeter City’s Chief Executive Officer, expressed his enthusiasm for this project: "We are delighted to work with Dolphin Stairlifts to create this facility. Making sure that all supporters, home and away, are able to enjoy a fully inclusive match day experience is something that is really important to the club. This new facility will make a huge difference for away disabled fans; allowing them to support their team in the best way possible.”

Perry Carpenter, Director at Dolphin Stairlifts, added: “We are delighted to work alongside Exeter City as their accessibility partner. As a supporter of the club, it was a natural decision to combine my love of the game to help enable inclusivity for all. Our family run business ethos aligns with Exeter City’s own, and Dolphin Stairlifts being able to provide the club and its supporters with improved facilities for away fans is something I am proud of.”

The installation work was carried out last week and the new lift and viewing platform for away supporters will be accessible when Shrewsbury Town visit St James Park on Saturday, March 8.
