A perfectly weighted ball into the box midway through the second half was met by Josh Magennis to send City 2-0 up and on their way to beating Peterborough.

The deliverer of that ball, Ilmari Niskanen, shared his thoughts after the Grecians sealed all three points at SJP this afternoon.

"Really good performance from the start," said our number 14. "Of course we wanted to play so much better than what we did against Northampton a week ago which wasn't good enough.

"We wanted to bring intensity to our game, press them hard and take our chances well, and I think that worked really well from the start."

While the wet and rainy conditions may have not been favoured by those having to walk to and from SJP this afternoon, Imi explained how it was, in his opinion, perfect for playing the brand of football City wanted to portray.

"Those are the best possible conditions to play football, little but of rain, the pitch was perfect, which helps our passing, our identity.

"It's always so special to play at SJP and the atmosphere was fantastic."
