With the new season on the horizon for both Exeter City Men and Women, work has continued throughout the summer to improve St James Park and enhance the matchday experience for supporters.
Exeter City Women’s opening league fixture against Oxford United on Sunday, August 16 will be the first competitive match of the new campaign at St James Park, before the men’s team welcome Accrington Stanley on Saturday, August 22.
Supporters returning to the Park will see a host of improvements around the stadium, from new catering and refreshed hospitality areas to updated branding, general maintenance and upgrades to facilities.
The Club would like to thank the many volunteers, staff members and Club Partners who have given their time, expertise and support throughout a busy summer.
Speaking about the work, City’s Interim General Manager John Street said: “We were all determined that, despite being relegated to League Two and with the known budget constraints within which the Club is working, we wanted to show all our supporters that we retain pride in ourselves and everything that we do.
“These relatively small changes around the ground, when put together, have an incremental impact on improving the overall matchday experience for everyone, and fully embrace the ‘Our City, Our Club, Our Way’ ethos.”
The Grecian Grill
One of the biggest additions for supporters this season is the brand-new Grecian Grill, which opened during pre-season and received its first full test during the friendly against Bristol City.
The permanent catering outlet will be available at all men’s and women’s matches at St James Park, providing supporters with an expanded food offering while also generating additional income for the Club.
The Grecian Grill was secured after the Club moved quickly to take advantage of an excellent opportunity to purchase the catering trailer at a competitive price. The Exeter City Supporters’ Trust recognised the long-term value it could bring to the Club and provided the funding required to complete the purchase.
Feedback from supporters during pre-season has already been hugely positive, with praise for the quality and affordability of the food and the new menu.
Make sure you pay the Grecian Grill a visit when you return to the Park this Sunday.
Food and drink
There will also be an enhanced food and drink offering across the stadium kiosks this season, with a wider selection designed to give supporters greater choice on matchdays.
A new range of pasties will be available for £4.50, while hot dogs will be served at most kiosks for £5.
Looking ahead to the colder winter months, pie and mash will also be introduced, giving supporters a warming option during the winter period.
The refresh extends beyond hot food, with a new range of Coca-Cola products available alongside a larger selection of sweets and chocolates.
The changes form part of the Club’s ongoing efforts to improve the kiosk experience and provide greater variety for supporters throughout the season.
Bars
There have also been several improvements across the Club’s bars, including a refreshed pricing structure and a greater focus on sustainability.
Carlsberg, Tribute and Thatchers Gold will all be available for £4 per pint, while Birrificio Angelo Poretti will be £5 and Estrella Damm £6.Guinness is now also available on draught at the Centre Spot for £6 per pint.
The previous cup deposit scheme has also been removed, meaning supporters will no longer need to pay or reclaim a deposit when purchasing their drinks.
In keeping with the Club’s environmental commitments, all cups used throughout the stadium are now fully co1/2qmpostable, helping to reduce waste while making the matchday experience simpler and more efficient.
Heritage Lounge
The Heritage Lounge has undergone a significant refresh and extension over the summer, forming part of wider improvements across St James Park.
The work aims to improve the look, feel and functionality of the space, while providing a premium matchday experience for Match, Ball and Programme Sponsors, Heritage Lounge Members and Club Partners.
The work was carried out by Arque and EX2 Group, with the improvements creating a more comfortable and welcoming environment for supporters and guests using the lounge on matchdays and for events.
As well as giving the room a fresher and more modern feel, the changes will enhance the Club’s hospitality offering and make the space more flexible and practical for both matchday and non-matchday use.
The Heritage Lounge remains the Club’s premium hospitality offering, with its glass-fronted, pitch-facing position providing an excellent view of the action at St James Park.
Limited Match, Ball and Programme Sponsorship packages remain available for the 2026/27 season for both the men’s and women’s teams.

New branding around the Park
As the Club celebrates 125 years of Exeter City, supporters will also notice new branding throughout and around St James Park, reflecting both the Club’s history and its ‘Our City, Our Club, Our Way’ ethos.
The signage welcoming supporters to the stadium has been updated and moved to a more prominent position, while the Centre Spot has also received a branding overhaul, including new signage inside the building and a large Exeter City logo and anniversary messaging within the bar.
A new feature display has been installed outside the Museum entrance, celebrating some of the key moments and milestones from the Club’s 125-year history.
Inside the stadium, a large 125th anniversary crest has been added to the wall next to the Big Bank, while new banners have been installed as supporters enter the Optimising IT Adam Stansfield Stand.
Further anniversary branding can be seen externally, with banners now displayed along St James Road and on the fencing at the corner of the Optimising IT Adam Stansfield Stand.
General maintenance
Exeter City has been indebted to the incredible work and dedication of its volunteers since the Supporters’ Trust took ownership of the Club in 2003.
Over the past two decades, volunteers have contributed thousands of hours to help the Club develop and move forward, and their efforts have once again been evident throughout the summer.
Our army of volunteers has been hard at work across St James Park, helping to tidy and improve the stadium, repaint areas, carry out small repairs and complete several installations.
Their contribution is an important part of what makes Exeter City different, and the Club is hugely grateful for the time and effort given by everyone involved.
Big Bank graffiti wall
A huge thank you goes to local artists and big City fans camo.staffy and skinzmann, alongside volunteers from the Big Bank Faithful supporters’ group, for creating an incredible new feature wall outside the Big Bank.
The newly painted wall welcomes supporters to the largest standing terrace in professional English football and provides a fantastic new photo opportunity for visitors to St James Park.
Big Bank heart gets a refresh
The iconic heart on the Big Bank has also received a fresh coat of paint ahead of the new season.
A huge thank you goes to Josh, Quinn and Nelson from GGZ, as well as Debs and Kate, for helping to bring the heart back to life.
The heart is quite literally the ‘beating heart’ of the Big Bank and a symbol of the home of so many of our passionate young supporters. The fresh paint ensures it stands out more than ever at St James Park.
Press box moved and upgraded
The press box in the Nevada Construction Main Stand moving from Block L to Block K.
The old, slanted metal desks have been replaced with new red wooden desks, providing a more comfortable working environment for visiting members of the media.
The press box has also been reconfigured into four rows of five seats, rather than two rows of ten, making it easier for media members to access their seats during matches.
Alongside this, a new radio broadcast deck has been installed, providing commentators with an improved view of the pitch and facilities better suited to their needs.
More to come
The work carried out over the summer is all part of the Club’s ongoing commitment to improving St James Park and making it a place our supporters can be proud to call home.
We hope these improvements make a positive difference to the matchday experience for everyone visiting the Park throughout the 2026/27 season.
And there is more to come, with further improvements planned in the coming weeks and months. Thank you for your continued support, Grecians.
Our City. Our Club. Our Way.
