Exeter City Football Club is delighted to announce a new partnership with SWM Recycling - waste management and recycling specialists.
The North Devon-based company will be sponsoring the Big Screen at St James Park for the next two seasons, giving their brand prominent visibility to supporters throughout every home match.
With its Head Office based at Roundswell Business Park in Barnstaple, SWM specialises in transforming waste into a useful resource sustainably, safely and economically. Their services range from total waste management and metal recycling to skip hire, hazardous waste and scrap vehicles. They work with businesses of all sizes across the South West, from large organisations to individual tradespeople.
Phil Akers, Managing Director of SWM, said: “For us, supporting Exeter City is about much more than just having our company logo on the screen or on an advertising board, it is an opportunity to connect two organisations who share strong local roots, are committed to making a positive difference in the community, and who share many similar values.
“We like the inclusive and comfortable feel of the club which enhances the atmosphere and the experience. In addition to that, being Trust owned makes the club unique, where the fans’ experience is valued, whilst simultaneously promoting and investing in local talent through the work of the Academy.
“Our expertise in waste management and recycling, where we help businesses and households across the South West turn waste into useful resources, makes a partnership with Exeter City a natural fit. An example of the sustainability fit is characterised by Exeter City themselves building a strong reputation for environmental initiatives, and which saw the club achieve silver status in the EFL Green Clubs programme in 2025.
“This partnership with Exeter City is an exciting development for SWM, as well as gaining valuable local brand exposure, we hope it will help us build greater direct community engagement and strengthen our corporate social responsibility ambitions and allow us to continue to promote the idea of responsible recycling.”
SWM's commitment to zero waste to landfill reflects a genuine dedication to environmental sustainability - a value that Exeter City Football Club shares. The Club's own Cans4City recycling scheme, which is delivered by a team of committed volunteers, has raised more than £34,000 for good causes since 2005, and is a perfect example of that shared ethos."
Tom Wenborn, Commercial Sales and Relationship Manager at Exeter City Football Club, said: “We're delighted to welcome SWM as our Big Screen sponsors. We look forward to developing our relationship with them over the coming two seasons and supporting them to achieve their business aims.”
