With the 2026/27 Sky Bet League Two campaign just around the corner, some key changes are coming to The Grecian programme for home games at St James Park.
As the club enters its 125th year, football culture has undoubtedly changed. Once a staple of every fixture up and down the country, the popularity of matchday programmes has seen a vast decline in recent years with some clubs opting to cease them entirely.
A decline in demand amongst supporters, an increase in printing, design & editorial costs, and the benefits on offer from digital alternatives mean that the viability of a physical matchday programme at St James Park will need to be thoroughly before decisions on the long-term future can be made. With the upcoming season marking such a significant anniversary for the club however, physical copies of The Grecian will be continuing for all league games until at least the end of the 2026/27 season.
Where to buy a programme in the 2026/27 season
As part of an aim to streamline the supporter experience on a matchday, purchasing a copy of The Grecian will be different in the 2026/27 season.
Instead of primarily being sold by individual programme sellers, supporters will now be able to purchase their copy of The Grecian from various kiosks, bars & outlets around the stadium be that the Club Shop, the Centre Spot bar, Red & Fed kiosks and everything in between to make it a one-stop buying experience.
