Match Preview: West Brom U21 (PL Cup)

PL Cup West Brom

Exeter City U21 are in Premier League Cup action on Tuesday night as they take on West Brom U21s in a 7pm kick-off - the final group game of this season's competition.

With one game to go the Grecians need a win for any hopes of qualifying for the knock out stages.

City opened their campaign with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Luton Town at St James Park in late August, this was backed up by a late 1-0 win over Brentford B at the Park, before a hard-fought 0-0 draw away at West Brom. City suffered defeat for the first time away, losing at Brentford B before a narrow 2-1 defeat at Luton Town.

The Premier League Cup has been a useful platform in the past, allowing a transition between academy and first team football for many young players, with players like Liam Oakes, Tom Dean and Charlie Cummins having all benefitted from game time in the competition.

So head down to SJP and show your support for the boys!

Previous Match with West Brom

West Brom 0 Exeter City 0 | October 15, 2025 | Group Game 3

Exeter City picked up a point on their travels in the Premier League Cup with an entertaining goalless draw with West Bromwich Albion U21s. The match at the Alexander Stadium was highlighted by some impressive shot-stopping by City keeper Jack Bycroft - as the team made some decent chances that could have seen three points head back to Devon.
