Exeter City Women are delighted to announce the signing of Bethan McGowan, subject to FA Registration!
The 22 year-old central midfielder joins Abbie Britton's squad having most recently played for Gwalia United in the Southern Premier Division, linking up with her former teammate Tia Asker who also made the move down the M5 earlier this summer.
The former Welsh youth international began her career in Arsenal's academy, representing their PGA side, before representing Birmingham City, West Bromwich Albion and Derby County.
She played against City last season and put in strong, battling performances in the centre of midfield, of the ilk that Abbie Britton will be hoping she can bring to the Grecians this season.
Speaking about her latest recruit, Abbie Britton said: "Beth has been with us for a few weeks and her quality has really shone through.
"She has excellent tier three experience and has the ability to drive us forward in midfield. Beth has moved down to Devon to make sure she maximises the opportunities at Exeter City and I am confident this is going to be a big season for her."
Beth was as equally excited to be down in Devon, saying: "It feels great to be here, especially as part of a club which is investing and pushing for more.
"The rest of the squad has been great with me, there's a lot of new faces but I feel like I have settled in quite quickly, Exeter's a lovely place and I'm really enjoying it here."
Beth will wear the number 14 shirt for the 2026/27 season, and if you would like to sponsor our new recruit, please contact our Commercial team on commercial@ecfc.co.uk.
Welcome, Bethan!
