Joma Show Their Colours

5 August 2012

Fans queue to get the new home kit

Dozens of fans queued up inside the St James's Park club shop to get their hands on the new Exeter City home kit this morning.

The official strip has been manufactured by the Grecians' new supplier Joma.

Supporters were also treated to a live training session at The Park as part of a Family Fun Day to celebrate the start of the new season.

Justin Quick, who handles the kit supply operations for the club, said City and the team at Spanish-based Joma had worked closely throughout the close season to ensure the new strip arrived on time.

He added that he was particularly impressed with the way Joma had handled a problem caused by water leaking into one of the consignments between the factory and the port.

Justin said: "The problem was spotted immediately as Joma, working to their strict quality control standards took samples from every case as they were unloaded in the UK.

"Within a very short period of time the company had informed the club and put in place arrangements to have the contents of the case replaced within the next three weeks.

"We have been extremely pleased with how Joma has handled the whole design and supply of our kit. This demonstration of their quality control standards and the quality and speed of their response shows we made the right decision when choosing to make the step up to a supplier with a world wide reputation."

Club Vice Chairman and CEO, Julian Tagg, added, "In truth the very small number of shirts involved and extent of the damage means it is a minor problem, but Joma's ability to pick it up, communicate with the club and take corrective measures has been impressive. We think our fans are going to be very happy with our kit products and Joma as a company."

* In line with City's environmental policy to avoid waste at every opportunity, the few damaged shirts will be offered for sale at a discount.
