Cracking range of Easter courses

Great choice of holiday courses for kids through FITC

There’s an egg-cellent choice of courses on offer from Football in the Community for the Easter holidays, including and indoor tennis and Dodgeball session, plus a new two-day course in Teignmouth.

There will be our usual two-day course each week in Exeter, plus Match Mania, Futsal and Goalkeepers’ and Strikers’ days.  There will also be a Futsal event at Seale-Hayne College in Newton Abbot.

Teignmouth Community School, which hosts our development programme, will be the venue for the holiday course there, which is our first visit to the area, and Scott Walker, sport development officer for FITC, is delighted to be taking the roadshows to the town.

“It’s great news that we are able to provide parents who live in Teignmouth with the option of a holiday course on their doorstep.  We have lots of parents who make the journey into Exeter for our events, so we hope they will appreciate being able to attend a course closer to home,” Scott said.

Also new to our courses this Easter is an indoor tennis and Dodgeball session, which will combine two very different sports – one individual, one team.

Everyone is familiar with the principles of tennis, but Dodgeball is an exciting team game, which works on all the fundamental movement skills – running, jumping, catching and coordination, as well as assisting with teamwork and communication.

“This is something we’re really excited about,” Scott said.  “All the coaches who attended the activator course had a great time and can’t wait to share their knowledge with the children at a session as we are certain they will enjoy it.”

There are sessions running in Dawlish, plus in East Devon at Sidmouth, Exmouth, Feniton and Axminster and Mid Devon – Crediton, Tiverton, Okehampton and Hatherleigh.  A new venue, Woolacombe, has been added to the list in North Devon, which also includes Barnstaple, Bideford, South Molton and Ilfracombe.

As usual, there will be a disability session for 8-18 year olds at St Luke’s Science and Sports College on 8th April.

Online booking is available now at www.ecfconline.com or for more information email fitc.admin@exetercityfc.co.uk.
