Clinton Morrison signs for Exeter City

27 November 2014

Striker joins the ranks with the Grecians

Exeter City have signed forward Clinton Morrison on non-contract terms.

Morrison began his career with hometown team Crystal Palace, before joining then-Premier League side Birmingham City in 2002.  After three years playing top-tier football with the Blues, he rejoined the Eagles for a second spell and took his goal-tally for the South London outfit to 113 – joint-fourth with Mark Bright on Palace’s all-time top scorers list.

Since departing Palace for the second time in 2008, Morrison spent two years apiece on the books at Coventry City, Sheffield Wednesday and Colchester United, whilst also spending loan spells with MK Dons and Brentford during his time with the Owls.

The striker also represented the Republic of Ireland on 36 occasions, scoring nine times, and was part of the country’s squad for the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea.

The forward, who spent the last two seasons with Colchester United, will be eligible for selection for the Grecians’ visit to Accrington Stanley on Friday.
