Defender to extend stay with the Grecians
Exeter City are pleased to announce that Christian Ribeiro has agreed a deal to stay with Exeter City, and will join up the squad when pre-season training begins ahead of the 2015/16 season later this month. The defender, who moved to St James Park last summer, was named as Exeter City’s Player of the Year after an eye-catching maiden campaign in the red and white shirt.
Ribeiro made 39 appearances for the Grecians last year, and netted twice – one of which was a point-earning equaliser in a 1-1 draw at St James Park against eventual League 2 champions Burton Albion.
And now the Welshman will be on Exeter City’s books for the new season, as will Lee Holmes – who turned his loan move into a permanent deal last month – and new additions Manny Oyeleke and Bobby Olejnik.
Exeter City manager Paul Tisdale said: “I’m really pleased that Christian is on board for next season – he enjoyed a very good first season with us and added a presence both on and off the pitch.
“Now we are looking forward to welcoming him back to the Cat & Fiddle for pre-season training, and we hope that he and the team can keep growing and progressing as we aim to have a successful season.”
