Grecians to visit Swindon Town in Capital One Cup first round

Robins to host Exeter City

Exeter City have been drawn away against Swindon Town in the first round of the Capital One Cup in 2015/16.

The Robins are former winners of the League Cup – they overcame Arsenal 3-1 after extra-time at Wembley Stadium in the final in 1969 – Don Rogers netted twice in the added 30 minutes after Bobby Gould had cancelled out Roger Smart’s goal.

Former Grecian Mark Cooper led Swindon back to Wembley this summer for the League 1 play-off final, but they lost 4-0 to Preston North End as the Lilywhites earned a place in the Championship.

The first round fixtures are due to be played in the week commencing August 10th 2015 – our exact date, fixture time and ticket details for the game at the County Ground will be released in due course once the television games have been selected.
