A look at how Grecians are getting on away from St James Park

CITY FAN Exiled Grecian delivers an update on the Grecians on loan away from St James Park.

Connor Riley-Lowe
Truro City, National League South (Joined in July, six-month loan extended until the end of the season)

It was FA Trophy action for Truro this weekend as they held National League side Macclesfield to a 2-2 draw. The Cornish side had taken the lead through former Grecian Ollie Knowles, but had to rely on an eighty-fifth minute Isaac Vassell equaliser to secure a replay against the Silkmen. Steve Tully's men now travel to Moss Ross tonight (19th January) for the rematch. Should they progress to the next round, they will face Torquay at Plainmoor, where Truro will be playing their home games next season. Connor was again involved for the full 90 minutes and could have had an assist if Vassell had reached his cross with the score at 0-0.

Alex Byrne
Weston-super-Mare, National League South (Joined in July, six-month loan extended until the end of the season)

Weston-super-Mare were also in FA Trophy action last week. After five postponements, Weston were finally able to host Wealdstone on Wednesday 13 January. The hosts started off well, Scott Wilson scoring twice to give them a half time lead. Wealdstone responded after the break and brought themselves level with just over quarter of an hour to go, but Wilson completed his hat trick with a thumping header in added time to send the Somerset outfit through.

The result meant they faced a trip Grimsby Town of Saturday. Weston did manage to score an equaliser in the first half through Dayle Grubb in the first half, but Grimsby came out 3-1 winners. Alex, now fully settled in the starting XI, was involved for the full 90 minutes in both games.
