City manager overlooked for the ninth time he has been nominated
Exeter City boss Paul Tisdale has missed out on winning the manager of the month award for the ninth time, losing out to Colchester United manager John McGreal.
Paul has been nominated for the award on eight previous occasions but has never been presented as the winner.
Heading into December, Exeter were just above the relegation zone and were without a league win at St James Park this season.
However, four weeks later City occupy 11th place in League Two, only five points off a play-off place and have intentions of promotion.
City picked up 10 points in December, with victories over Cheltenham Town, Mansfield Town and Newport County along with a draw against Yeovil Town.
McGreal also bagged 10 points in December to bring Colchester back into contention for a play-off spot after his side were beginning to fall out of favour prior to this month’s performances.
Grecians’ midfielder Ollie Watkins also just missed out on the December player of the month for League Two, despite scoring five goals in four games from midfield.
This included a hat-trick in a 4-1 win away to Newport County AFC and both goals in a 2-0 win at home to Mansfield.
However, Wycombe’s striker Scott Kashkat received the award after scoring four goals for the Chairboys last month.
