Match preview: City v Newport County AFC

All you need to know about Saturday's game against Newport County AFC

1 September 2017

Exeter City host Newport County AFC at St James Park as they look to continue their unbeaten start to the League Two season.

Micky Flynn's side will come to Devon second in the table, having claimed early season scalps away at Coventry City and at home to Chesterfield. They are also unbeaten in League Two so far this season and City manager Paul Tisdale is expecting a tough match and wasn't getting drawn into the hype about the game being a top-of-the-table clash so early on in the season.

"We are four games in," he said. "Someone said to me this week 'how do you approach the next few games, are you looking to hang on in there until the end of the season?'. I said: 'Crikey! There are 42 games to go'. I think if we starting thinking about hanging on in there that is going to be the wrong focus."
