Exeter City Manager Matt Taylor said that tonight's friendly draw with Weymouth was all about giving minutes to players that haven't featured so far this season.
City were held to a 1-1 draw against Weymouth as they travelled to the Bob Lucas Stadium on Tuesday evening. Ben Seymour's second half header looked to have secured victory for the Grecians but a last gap equaliser from Calvin Brooks saved a draw for the hosts.
Speaking after the match, Matt said: "It was all about minutes. There was a large group that didn't get game time at the weekend and needed some sort of game time this week to be selected for the weekend.
"Some of themselves forward so there were a few positives to be taken from the game. No real standout performances but a lot of endeavour. We just lacked quality at times.
The first half was one of few chances and Matt made a change of shape at half time: "The first half was a bit stale, probably for both teams." said Matt. "We were a bit disjointed, too many straight lines.
"We opened ourselves up in the second half with a change of shape and probably got more out of the game in terms of the second 45 and scored a good goal and threatend more.
"I'm disappointed to concede from a set piece but the lads were getting a bit weary and fatigued."
