Dan Green hails a "good platform" to build on, following the Young Grecians 1-1 draw with Swansea City in the Premier League Cup.
Speaking after the game the Under 23 coach, Dan said:
"Overall it was a really positive performance but there are still areas of the game I think we can improve.
"It was a game full of intent and togetherness, and I thought the boys gave everything they could."
Four hundred fans attended the game on Tuesday night and Green is hoping there are more to come.
"I'm really gratful for the atmosphere they created. I would love more fans to come and watch the younger players one one of these nights so they can be able to say 'I remember that night, and I remember their debut.' "
