Exeter City attacker Carlos Mendes Gomes was delighted to score his first City goal in the Grecians 3-1 win over Port Vale at Vale Park.
Carlos, who joined the City in the summer on a season-long loan from Bolton had a tough time after picking up an injury that kept him out of the side for an extended period. After overcoming the injury he has played a big part in City's current form and scored the opener at Vale Park.
Speaking after the match he said: "We take the three points away from home - it's not an easy place to come as the pitch is massive and they play a direct style of football so we had to work extra hard to make sure we come home with the three points."
On scoring his first City goal, Carlos said: "We've been talking about me getting in the back post as we know how good Immi is with his crosses, so as soon as I saw the build up I made sure that I was in-front of my defender and it was an alright finish!"
