The draw for the right to purchase a pair of tickets to England's Nations League match against Spain has been completed (on Zoom) with fellow trustees, Nigel Edwards generating three random numbers and Greg Newcome verifying the names held against those numbers.
The reason for this late notification is that both the winner and the first reserve had to decline the tickets due to changes in personal circumstance since entering.
Luckily, asecond reserve had been drawn, Pavels Ivanovs, and Pavels was delighted to accept the prize commenting “Thank you! Few weeks ago, I was thinking how great it would be to go Wembley, as i never been there before, and watch England game. And now it's happening!”.
He has signed the required contract and paid for them with the tickets being forwarded electronically to Pavels.
It has now become practice not to publish the names of winners or runners-up who did not accept or win the prize, but if anyone does want to know then feel free to email Neil on neil_le_milliere@btinternet.com.
There were fifty-six entries, all of which passed verification, possibly the biggest entry we’ve had for an international match.
