Goalkeeper Frankie Phillips has today joined Southern League side Taunton Town on a season-long loan, subject to paperwork.
The 19-year-old, who signed a new contract with the Grecians in the summer to extend his stay at the club, spent the whole of last season impressing at Exmouth Town and it is hoped this next loan step for Phillips will aid his development.
Frankie has already featured for the Grecians this summer, playing 45 minutes in Saturday's 6-0 pre-season friendly win over Weston-super-Mare on Saturday.
He is due to feature in their friendly on Tuesday night against Tavistock. The club exercise the right to recall Frankie from his loan at any point after 28 days.
Goalkeeping coach Kevin Miller said: "This is a hugely important loan for Frankie as it is a step up for him from last season, and we hope it will continue to support his development as a promising young goalkeeper. We’re grateful to Taunton for taking him on and wish him all the best.”
Good luck, Frankie!
