Gary Caldwell has given his thoughts as City were beaten 2-1 by Mansfield Town at SJP.
Josh Magennis' penalty was not enough to secure a point with the Grecians suffering a late defeat, and he has responded with disappointment at the team's performance.
"The result was not good enough and neither was the performance. We were ok for 20/25 minutes but we didn't want to run, we didn't want to play at speed, and then we gave a really poor goal away from a set-piece," he said.
"The second half does not get much better, but we did manage to find some momentum in the game and looked like winning. We should never lose from that position. There were too many mistakes, too many poor performances, and we got what we deserved.
"I'm sick of hearing about last Saturday - but last week was last week and we have lost two games since them. We all have to wake up and know that when we put a performance in the next game is the most important.
"Too many people are still thinking about last weekend and we have thrown two games away."
