Gary Caldwell has given his thoughts as the Grecians prepare to take on Mansfield Town on Saturday, looking to build on last weekend's thrilling 4-1 win over Blackpool at St James Park.
City were beaten 2-0 on Wednesday night in the Carabao Cup but were much changed, and there is confidence amongst the group after the 'perfect' performance against the Tangerines. Caldwell hopes for more of the same.
"Mansfield are a difficult team to play and a difficult team to predict what they are going to do. Last season we won the home game and lost the last game of the season, although you can't take too much from that last game of the season.
"It's a game where we want to play on the front foot - the lessons we have learnt from Blackpool is that we were dominant in every aspect and we have to have that mindset again and a real focus on what we do and how we impact the game. If we do that I'm sure we can get a positive result.
"Every time you come against Nigel Clough, he is a hard manager to play against with so much experience in the game because we have to be ready as a whole club and continue the feel good from Blackpool."
