Exeter City manager Gary Caldwell has given his thoughts as the Grecians were beaten 2-0 by Port Vale at SJP in EFL Sky Bet League One.
The damage was done in the first half with an early goal from Ruari Paton and Devante Cole's cool finish on the stroke of half time earning the three points for the visitors.
"I'm disappointed to lose at home when we were becoming a good team and winning games at SJP. It's another game where I feel we have gifted the opposition and given them momentum in the game and given them something to hold onto.
"They gave so much effort in the second half and created moments to score and couldn't get the ball in the net. When you go two-nil down like we did at Northampton and similar to last weekend at Rotherham - conceding the first goal makes it really difficult."
