Gary Caldwell's Exeter City team will feel hard done by to leave the Toughsheet Community Stadium with no points, a second-half comeback from Bolton Wanderers leaving the hosts with all three points.
A heavily rotated Grecian XI entered the field of play at the Toughsheet Community Stadium and immediately posed threats towards the Bolton goal. Jack Aitchison popped up with the opening goal in the 20th minute, a composed finish after an error from the hosts giving City the lead.
"His work for the team out of possession alongside Sonny on the other side and Josh Magennis as well, the front three put a power of work in that first half."
Repetitive momentum from the home team would test the Grecian defence for the duration of the game, much to the delight of Caldwell, the back-line dealt with this pressure well for large parts of the game.
"I thought the whole team defensively were very clear on how we were going to restrict them and stop them hurting us."
It was a second-half comeback from substitutes Dalby and Gale that turned the scoreline around for the Wanderers, a frustrating 20 minutes to end the game for City.
"The game lasts for 90 or 100 minutes now where you have to be at it for every single one of those minutes, and we're just falling short at the minute so we must address this."
