Exeter City manager Gary Caldwell has given his thoughts after his side fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat away at Stockport County.
A headed set piece goal from Nathan Lowe was the difference, and despite positive signs, City failed to level the scores.
“(I’m) disappointed with the outcome but happy with a lot of aspects from the performance.”
“I didn’t think we deserved to come in 1-0 down at half time. In thought it was a 50/50 game.
“We knew the first half was important, that we got ourselves into the game. We had a tactic to play a bit longer, to try and get into their half, and to be really aggressive out of possession.
“I thought it worked well to an extent. I thought we could have looked after the ball better when we got in the half and won the ball off our press many times and then gave it away too quickly.”
