Ilmari Niskanen has shared his thoughts as the Grecians prepare to return to league action with the visit of Mansfield Town to St James Park on Saturday lunchtime.
The Finn was an influential man in City's 4-1 win over Blackpool on Saturday, and is looking forward to facing a home crowd again at SJP as the group try to build on the result and make amends for Wednesday's cup exit at the hands of Cheltenham Town.
"The thing is with football, looking at Saturday as well, is that you can’t get too high on the good moments, and too low when the game doesn’t go your way," Niskanen said.
"We have to try and remain as consistent as possible. There will be lots of learning from last night, but there are positives to take there as well. That one game doesn't take away the momentum from Saturday.
"We have sat down and started focusing on Mansfield and our goal always remains the same. We know they are a good team even though they have had two narrow losses, but they were really good on the final day of last season.
"We have to learn from that game as well and use it on Saturday, and we need to be ready for them."
